One of the comfort food desserts of all time, right? This one is so quick and easy, youโll be treating your family (or yourself!) every week!!
INGREDIENTS
Filling
๐ 770g canned apple slices (or cut fresh apple into slices and steam / boil to desired sotfness)
๐ 1/4 cup apple juice (can use boiling / steaming water if you prepare the apples fresh)
๐ 2 tbsp lemon juice
๐ 2/3 cup white sugar (if you prefer to be โsugar freeโ then use sweeter apples and omit the sugar)
๐ 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
๐ 3 tbsp cornstarch
๐ 1/2 tsp ginger
๐ 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Topping
๐ 1 cup rolled oats
๐ 1/2 cup almond meal
๐ 1/2 cup plain flour
๐ 1/2 cup white sugar (omit for โsugar freeโ option)
๐ 1/2 cup brown sugar (omit for โsugar freeโ option)
๐ 1/2 cup walnuts/pecans
๐ 1/4 tsp salt
๐ 1 tsp cinnamon
๐ 1/2 cupย @thevegandairyย cultured butter, melted
METHOD
Preheat oven to 180c. In a large mixing bowl, add all filling ingredients and toss to combine. In a separate mixing bowl, add all topping ingredients and toss to combine. In a large baking dish, add the filling mixture and evenly spread. Add topping mixture on top and evenly spread. Place in oven for 20-25mins or until topping begins to brown.
