Um.. Hello.. That is all.. Get in my belllyyyyyyyy Dutch Chocolate Crème Filled Donuts 🍩
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup @thevegandairy Cultured Butter
1/2 cup soy milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup caster sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil for frying
1 jar @thevegandairy Dutch Chocolate Crème
METHOD:
Gently melt the butter over low-medium heat. Add milk and 2 tablespoons of olive oil and mix together. Once combined take off the heat and set it aside.
In a separate bowl combine the flour, caster sugar, baking powder and salt with a fork. Make a well in the centre and pour in the butter mixture. Combine gradually until a thick dough forms.
Put flour on your hands so they don’t stick and roll dough into little flat balls. Press a hole in the centre of each doughnut to fill with Dutch Chocolate Crème at the end.
Heat oil in a large pot – enough so that the donuts are completely submerged when in the pot. Gently lay the doughnuts into the oil using a spatula. Fry for about 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Transfer the doughnuts onto a paper towel to soak up any excess oil.
Roll the doughnut in caster sugar and set it aside. Use a piping bag to pipe in the Dutch Chocolate Crème. If you don’t have a piping bag you can make one using baking paper (look up DIY piping bag online!) or, alternatively, for a waste free option you can use a large syringe (wash and reuse!) 🌱
