Quick and easy total comfort food for your weekend lunch with this Vegan Philly Cheesesteak
INGREDIENTS
🌭 1 cup TVP slices
🌭 1.5 tbls vegan Worcestershire sauce
🌭 1 tsp dark soy sauce (can sub light soy sauce but it won’t be as ‘meaty’)
🌭 1/2 tsp garlic powder
🌭 1 brown onion, sliced
🌭 1 red or green capsicum/pepper, sliced (used half of each here)
🌭 @thevegandairy Smoked Help Mozzarella, sliced
🌭 4 long soft rolls
METHOD
In a bowl, rehydrate the TVP in water and set aside for five minutes before draining the excess liquid. In a small bowl, mix together the Worcestershire, soy sauce and garlic powder and set aside
In a pan over med-high heat, cook the onion and TVP until onion softens (about 5 mins). Add the sauce mixture and capsicum and cook a further 2 mins before turning heat to low. Place the sliced mozzarella on top of the mixture before placing a lid on the pan and allowing the cheese to melt. Once melted add to your rolls and enjoy!
